The New Bohemian Gallery presents its newest exhibition, "In The Year 3000," with an opening reception from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

This exhibit features the artwork of seven artists and will open Friday and run through Oct. 1. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition is open to the public from 12:30-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, or by appointment.

In a news release, organizers stated, "This exhibition focuses on the state of our surroundings 359,150 days into the future, through artwork that is both representational and abstract in nature. We ponder how different things will be in the year 3000, and ask ourselves questions like, will we finally have flying cars, will we be inhabitants of Mars, will our brains be connected to the cloud, will we all be super humans or be replaced by artificial intelligence, how will our global economies and governments hold up alongside various environmental issues that currently affect us today?"

The artists selected for the exhibition have created artwork that reflect on the questions and overall have a futuristic feel to them. Whether it be the digital illustration by Selena Hautamaki, created in a retrofuturistic style, incorporating bold imagery and colors, or the mixed media paintings by Tyler Huss, which imagine an unknown environment with select imagery that could look much more familiar in the near future, each of the pieces in the exhibition is a look into what could be. Artwork created in the mediums of acrylic paintings, collage, illustration, mixed media, and ceramic sculpture will be on display.

Participating artists include Allanah Voes, Brandin Baron, Lauren Skelly, Martin Nelson, Selena Hautamaki, Brian Huber and Tyler Huss.
